Description

Original Portrait Paintings Approx. 48” x 36” Circa 1860 Unsigned. Various attributions by Antiques Roadshow art experts but no definitive artist.
Subjects are identified as David Carpenter (1826-1896) and Abigail Miranda Boardman (1835-1900). David was a farmer and business owner in Bennington Vermont (per census) and son of a Vermont legislator. Abigail is reportedly descended from Captain John Stark (per obituaries) who led the Battle of Bennington. Portraits have some flaking but in good overall condition for their age. Professionally crated for shipping.
