Description

Referred to as a Chippendale style Bookcase Secretary, a Drop Front Secretary Desk, a Maddox Secretary Hutch or even a Governor Winthrop Secretary. No matter what you call it, this is a beautiful Bookcase Secretary made by the Monitor Furniture Company, Jamestown, NY. It was purchased in the late 1950’s and remains in Very Good Condition!

The Bookcase portion has glass in the doors and two adjustable wooden shelves with metal shelf pins and hardware. The Secretary portion has a drop leaf for writing and 4 large drawers for storage. There is a lock and key for these sections that works! Inside the drop leaf portion there are 4 small drawers, 4 letter slot style openings, 1 center compartment with a door and 2 hidden compartments on either side of the center door.
