Description

For Sale: Upholstered side chair with curved top rail and small carved pediment. Back frame inscribed with linear designs. Straight stiles topped by round ears embellished with rosettes. Lower rail curving to seat and supported on short, scrolled brackets continuing as rear legs. Deep upholstered seat with curved sides, skirt with incised border, and drop at front center. Front legs tapered columns, ringed feet. Plain rear legs flaring out. Red velvet upholstery. 39” high. Walnut. Grand Rapids circa 1870-80. Clean and stable condition. Appraised for $450 in 1990.
