Need a RESPONSIBLE house sitter? (Anywhere the Bellingham Area)

I'm looking for work in the Bellingham area and I need a place to stay while I'm looking. You may need a house sitter, and so that's a "win/win". I could be available longer term, depending upon the job I find.

Anyway, I don't smoke (no drugs!), I'm mature, male, with a solid resume and excellent references from my last landlord (Before that I'm owned my homes for the last 30 years), I have an 800 credit rating (You don't get that sort of number by being irresponsible!) and I'm dependable. I've just had and passed a background check by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. It just doesn't get more rigorous than that!
I am moving to the Bellingham area from California. Maybe we can help each other. "I" live in your place to keep it from looking empty and tempting to thieves, and I have a place to stay while I'm searching for work.
I'm good with cats, dogs and exotics (I've owned dogs and parrots).

I'm also a very good cook (commercial kitchen manager), perhaps you need a personal chef...? I also have an ad offering meals cooked in exchange for a room.
I'm flexible. I just want to move there and I can't rent there without a job. You'll note that I'm currently in California. I understand that there won't be as much sun; that the weather will be quite different...That's "ok" with me!
